I already had the excellent DIY: Know-how with Show-how when I bought this so was looking for something more detailed. Unfortunately, this didn't really deliver; it is much too thin; probbaly not much thicker than the DK chapter on wiring and lighting
If you are not intending on carrying out work yourself but just want an understanding of how certain things work, this book will still disappoint as it misses out the background, regulations, risks and new developments.
If you do not have any other book that covers basic wiring, this is probably worth the money

This is a musta have book. I must admit I'm one of the many people who learn from visualising... ie. monkey see, monkey do. ou-ou-ou-aouuu
Well for start, I've done some electric theory thevinin/norton/La place/right hand rule stuffs but none the wiser when it comes to wire a light bulb. This book is very illustrative and the picture is in colour too!

it just about covers everything you'll need for rewiring your home.
in a ringbinder format it enables you to keep the open while working.
buy this one and you dont need any other.
