A truly superb book. Extremly clear photos. diagrams & instructions. Makes an ideal book for anyone setting up home for the first time or anyone who has a lot of DIY ahead of them.

Not too bad. Very clear pictures. Note this seemed to be more geared to DIY projects after the first two or three chapters so it might be worth perusing the book before buying.

I already had the excellent DIY: Know-how with Show-how when I bought this so was looking for something more detailed. Unfortunately, this didn't really deliver; it is much too thin; probbaly not much thicker than the DK chapter on wiring and lighting
If you are not intending on carrying out work yourself but just want an understanding of how certain things work, this book will still disappoint as it misses out the background, regulations, risks and new developments.
If you do not have any other book that covers basic wiring, this is probably worth the money
