I had been thinking about a petrol trimmer but after some reading decided on this due to issues with weight, noise and practicality.
Not bad at all. I was cutting a thorny thick stemmed hedge which challenged it a little - bounced off the thicker (close to 16mm) branches. However for a privet type hedge it would be absolutely fine. The weight was just right and I don't regret buying a petrol trimmer. Well worth the price.

Unit is comfortable to hold (not too heavy!) works well and with the cutting length I needed cut my beech hedge a treat!

Took delivery of this item about three weeks ago, and it made trimming a privet and a deciduous hedge, along with a variety of overgrown bushes, a piece of cake. I'd been putting off my final garden 'tidy-up' before winter for a while, these did the job in a fraction of the time it used to take with my old manual shears, and after a lawn mow I'm done til next year. Excellent value for money.
