Ryobi EMS 1830 SC Mitre Saw, 2008-08-07
I bought this saw 2 years ago as I intended to do lots of woodworking both in construction in the house and outside. It is a fabulous tool and copes well with very detailed fine work (making trim for kitchen cabinet doors) as well as being very easy to set up for complicated compound mitres (for instance on supports for a hexagonal summer house in 47mm thick timber). The preset points on both scales are very easy to use and helpful, though setting up free hand is also simple. This has been one of my best buys!

I'm an electrician by trade and I've been using one of these for going on 5 years.
Its a perfect little tool for lining up downlighters on a freshly painted ceiling.
No holes and no mess.
Wouldn't be without it.
I've actually just had to buy a replacement one as my last one just died on me hence the review.
Only one word of warning if you use it on ceilings like me, you have to watch out for when
the batteries are going flat or of course gravity takes over and here I am buying a new one.
Still I can safely say I had my moneys worth out of it and you can hear when the pumps
starting to slow down so its my own fault really.

This bag is just amazing. I use it to carry (all Ryobi) circular saw, three speed power drill, angle drill/driver, jigsaw, spare blade for circular saw, two Li-on and one standard Ni-Cd batteries, clamps, drill bit cases, hacksaw blade case and numerous screws, fixings etc, in the side pockets. And yes, the zip does close. With all this kit in the bag, it is very much on the heavy side. However, this bag is well made, the carrying handle runs right through the bag and is made of thick tubular aluminium. The base is made from thick and durable plastic, the canvas shell is tough and flexible, the internal partitions can be adjusted to suit your own requirements. Supplied complete with a shoulder strap which does make it easier to cart all this kit around. And there is still room to spare.

 does the job well for the price but..., 2009-05-20
Lovely chop saw, laser-line works well as do the various angle settings, comes with a lovely big blade with tips that cut anything. The drawbacks for me are the noise and the lack of clamping options. Its a very noisy tool and theres only one clamp meaning your limited to using small wood bits that youd normally prefer a hand saw with, -much quieter and probably quicker.
